Kto bol MAHÁSI SAYSDAW ?
Satipatthana Vipassana is the quintessence of the Buddha's instructions on meditation: the development of insight into the real nature of things through constant mindfulness focused on the flow of one's own immediate experience. It is the culmination of the Noble Eightfold Path and the most direct way to final liberation.
In the present treatise the Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw explains, in clear and simple terms, the basic principles involved in the practice of insight meditation. He first elucidates the place of Vipassaná in the Buddhist path, connecting the practice with its theoretical foundation in the Abhidhamma teaching on the nature of mind and matter. Based on this foundation, he then gives concise directions for all the different aspects of insight meditation - when sitting, walking, or engaged in other activities.
The Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw was one of the foremost Buddhist meditation masters of modem times. The founder of a wide network of meditation centres in his native Burma, he was highly esteemed for his accomplishments in both the scholastic and practical aspects of Theravada Buddhism.
