Alan Hyža vytvoril koncept tejto knihy dávnejšie. Práca na knihe trvala takmer štyri roky. Vyžadovala si veľa organizačnej práce, trpezlivosti a úsilia. Sto ľudí nie je málo, navyše, mnohí z nich žijú v zahraničí. A k tomu fotografovanie miest. Je ich presne toľko ako ľudí – sto a sú roztrúsené po celom Slovensku. So stovkou ľudí, ktorých portréty sú v knihe, môžu súvisieť stovky názorov o ich opodstatnenosti. Alan Hyža výber konzultoval, avšak rozhodoval sa sám. Kľúč pri výbere osobností bol jednoduchý a komplikovaný zároveň. „Nemám rád slovo ‚osobnosť? v dnešnej podobe,“ vysvetľuje Alan Hyža. „Je sprofanované, ale neviem, ako inak by som označil ľudí, ktorých som fotografoval.
